The luxurious Koi Suite is located on the ground floor, just off the dining verandah, with direct access to the wide lawn and a little picnic area under a tree.
The bed is super-king size, and the spacious suite features both an indoor and outdoor seating area, plus a classic book cabinet with a selection of books.
There is a large TV here with satellite connection (as in all the rooms). There is also a DVD player and a collection of movies for a lazy evening indoors. There is a writing desk and a chair.
The huge French windows lead straight to the Koi Pond and waterfall, possibly the best place in the house for a cuppa while listening to the plop of the fish in the water and the bubbling stone ‘egg’, which attracts many beautiful birds.
As in all the suites, there is a large dressing area and a very large bathroom, this one featuring a super-size bathtub made of Italian marble, and a private garden that only guests of the Koi Suite can look into.
On the first floor, the romantic Coral Suite is done up in shades of deep pinks and reds, with a beautiful draped four-poster bed as the centrepiece.
The large windows have a unique view over the waterfall, the gardens, the sunset and the rice-growing valley below (particularly pretty in the monsoon – let no one tell you Goa isn’t a place to visit in the rains!).
The bird paintings here are by celebrated painter/illustrator Carl D’Silva.
This room has its own seating area, along with a large dressing area with wall-to-wall wardrobe and a very large (room-sized!) bathroom, including an Italian marble bathtub, with a huge window that gives you views of birds and butterflies even as your privacy is protected by chic café-curtains.
Even in a villa that’s already romantic, the Coral Suite is the perfect one for a couple!
Spread over almost two acres, featuring three king sized bedrooms, large airy common areas as well as a private infinity pool, organic garden, orchard and bespoke Balinese furniture, Villa Koi caters to its guests in a very special way. Built as a warm home, the owners have painstakingly curated a masterpiece in Goa.
The lightness of the structure, the wide views, the thoughtful service, the waterfall and the koi pond, and of course the hand-picked artifacts are meant to make you step away from the world of traffic and spam phone-calls and into one of lazy hours by the pool, watching birds and butterflies and feeling relaxed and healed.
The large (14 x 7 meters, max depth 4.5 feet) main swimming pool with an infinity edge overlooks lush gardens of the property and green fields in the valley below. An ideal length allows serious swimmers to do laps and the built-in benches and enclosed shallow end allow even non-swimmers to relax and enjoy being in water.
The lounge pool next door features sunken benches and is perfect for a lazy Goa day.
The broad deck has comfortable ultra large teak loungers with umbrellas and side-tables. Flanked by flaming bougainvillea and scented golden ginger plants, the deck is a great spot to enjoy the view over the pools and fields.
In a quiet corner is the shower and a few steps lead down to the changing room cum washroom.
An airy poolside pavilion supported by antique satinwood pillars gives a bird’s eye view of the fields and green valley. This is also a great spot to watch birds as they dip into the infinity pool for a quick cooling dip or a sip.
The living room with its double-height ceiling and floor-length glass windows and doors is the heart of the villa. The views are truly magnificent: the pools, the lawn-covered dunes and the gardens below and the sky above.
A typical luxury at Villa Koi is to watch the sunset sitting on the sofa with a drink in hand. At night, you can also enjoy the Goan moonlight or stars while sitting in the comfort of your holiday villa.
A stunning and comfortable lounging space, the living room is perfect for an easy conversation or some quiet reading time. The Villa is owned by certified bibliophiles and comes equipped with an eclectic library as well as a unique bibliochaise (a reading chair built into a bookcase!).
The room wall blazes with a large phulkari tapestry in flaming colours, and small niches in the wall are home to wooden farm animals.
Evenings at Villa Koi reveal an interesting play of concealed lighting where the wall transforms into a glowing piece of art.
The entire day windows and large glass doors let in breezes from the mini-valley as well as flooding the place with an incredible amount of light.
The Villa has two dining areas – one inside and one on the verandah outside featuring a view of the lawn and pools, both perfect for six guests each – so go ahead and select your favourite breakfast nook.
One of the best spots to relax in the villa is by the gardens - next to the natural laterite waterfall and fish pond. A large stone Buddha statue sits under a drooping frangipani tree while ferns overlap the bubbling stream. The waterfall flows into a fish pond filled with vibrant Japanese Koi carp. A stone egg bubbles gently in the pond and adds its own sounds.
From early morning to late evening, the area sees a large number of birds. If you want to bird watch or break out the DSLR or just relax, this is a great spot for relaxing and getting rid of your city-induced stress. Meditate, read or simply dream: Villa Koi is truly effective therapy!
Villa Koi is nestled in two-acre private property to itself and provides guests with a unparalleled sense of privacy.
The gardens here have many interesting features - the greenery starts at the gate and climbs along the road past the pastel-coloured utility cottages, past the private fruit orchard and spills over onto the lawn.
The villa also features a delightful, shaded walking path which attracts a large number of birds and butterflies, perfect for a morning stroll to catch the sun. Along the road are various kinds of bamboo including some rare black ones alongside stately golden bamboos.
Villa Koi Villa’s orchard grows bananas, corn, mangoes and tamarind among other things. Across the road, the villa owners' private organic garden grows many seasonal vegetables and herbs. Many of these make way onto the menu of Villa Koi, so you can expect fresh pesto, pakoras of ajwain leaf, butterhead lettuce and kale, the beautiful crimson Rosella drinks and sweet potatoes among more fresh and healthy produce.
There are many secluded and comfortable seating areas for you to enjoy the grounds – under trees, on the lawns, even built into the waterfall!
The most playful of the bedrooms suites, the bright, cheery Sunflower Suite has large twin beds for those who don’t want to rub shoulders with their partners during the night! However, if this is not required, then the two beds can be made up as one, to offer a huge, luxurious 2.5 meter (8 feet!) bed for a couple.
A large picture glass window is brushed by a local tree, popular with bulbuls. Cheerful yellow and white striped curtains bring in the sunlight. The seating area here is low-set, a place where you will want to curl up with something from the floating bookshelves.
As with the others, this room also features a large dressing area and a spacious, airy bathroom with a bathtub in Italian marble, and right outside the door is a fabulous view over the double-height living room, the swimming pool and the gardens.
